ice tunnels

Deep within the icy tundra, the Celces have built long, underground tunnels out of the snow. They are complex and winding, with many branches and main chambers. Some are small enough for only one Celces - one of the smallest species of Ilisthmira - to walk through, while others are large enough for several wolves to walk side by side. Each Celces has its own chamber to sleep in, and the largest chamber in the center of the network of tunnels is where the whole pack meets and spends the day. This chamber is huge, with many tunnels leading out of it. In one corner of this chamber there is a vast underground lake. Some fish can be found in the deeper ends; the shallow ends reach only to the knees of most adults, making them suitable for the younger Celces to play in. Celces need a lot of water to survive, so the pack spends much of its time in the lake.

tundra

Some call these parts the "snow plains." The western part of the territory, which leads into Cloudhopper land, is an endless stretch of rocky, frozen terrain. There are a few stunted trees and low-growing shrubs that sustain small animals, but other than that, few large animals can be found - only a couple herds of hoofed prey. This doesn't affect the pack too much, as it is much easier and less dangerous to catch some of the more common sparrow-hares and fairy-voles. The soil here is always frozen, but the ground isn't always covered in snow. Ponds and marshes are also common, which are ideal for a wandering Celces to quench its thirst. What may seem like a barren land actually provides much of the food for the pack.

ice floats

The eastern side of the territory is lined by the ocean. The water may be freezing, but the Celces enjoy going for a swim, finding the temperature to actually be quite comfortable. One particular stretch of beach has a cluster of ice floating off the shore. They are of all sizes, some with room enough for a single pup while others are large enough to fit several wolves at once. The largest sheet of ice could probably fit the whole pack; it remains in the same spot, floating a few feet from the shore. Pups love to play on the ice, and it is a great place for training. Not only that, but the pack's prey tends to use the ice as well, especially water fowl. It is also a popular fishing spot for the pack and for other predators. Pack members must be wary of the occasional sea-bear or tiger-seal, for they are the wolves' most dangerous adversaries here.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
celces
The Celces live in the coldest part of Ilisthmira, far to the north. The entire territory is covered in snow or ice, and the temperature is always below freezing. Celces make their dens underground, in intricate tunnels that were excavated long ago by other wolves. Most prey found here, other than fish, are too large for a single Celces to bring down, so every pack member knows the value of teamwork.
